This ruby colored, Burgundian style, Pinot Noir is vinified using traditional Old World methods. Hand picked from select estate blocks and rows, the clusters were carefully sorted, de-stemmed, cold-soaked, manually punched down and gently pressed in very small lots using an Italian basket press. The wine was aged 10 months in French oak barrels, not fined or filtered, and bottle-aged in climate controlled cellars for eight months before release.
This 100% estate grown wine shows classic Russian River/Green Valley characteristics of violet, plum, dark berries, minerals and earth. Its silky texture is balanced with perfect acidity, and subtle tannins reminiscent of the best old world burgundian wines.
The 2006 vintage drinks well now but will mature in the bottle revealing even more subtle complexities with grace and confidence over the next decade. Decanting is recommended. Drink now through 2018
